This cute little edible craft is really fun to make with the kids, and best of all they get to eat a healthy snack at the end of their crafting session!
Be sure to check out my quick tutorial video so you can see just how easy these are to make!
These yummy monsters are really quick to make - you could whip up a whole batch of them for a healthy party food idea in just 5-10 minutes!
They're also great for popping in a lunch box, just as a fun snack to go with breakfast or for an after school snack - whenever you serve them the kids are bound to love this fun monster snack!
Raisin Box Monsters
Supplies needed:
- raisin boxes
- brightly coloured paper
- pencil
- ruler
- scissors
- googly eyes
- glue
Method:
Gather your supplies. Stack the pieces of paper together and using a raisin box as a guide, mark out strips across the page as wide as the length of a raisin box.
Cut up the strips. I used 4 different colours of paper and cut them all out at the same time to save time, so I got 4 strips at a time.
Wrap each box in a strip of paper and glue together.
Glue a selection of googly eyes to the front of each paper-wrapped box. We had two different sizes of eyes and our monsters varied from having one to four eyes each.
You could also add extra facial features to your monsters, just grab a felt tip or marker pen and draw on mouths, noses, ears and maybe even fur or scales. Let the kids loose and see what their imaginations come up with!
As Halloween is coming, you could also try varying this idea with all green paper and a Frankenstein monster design, orange paper with pumpkin face designs or try my Ghostly raisin boxes. Raisin box monsters are also perfect for giving out as a healthier, allergy friendly treat for trick-or-treaters!
