Continuing this week's Lego food theme, today I'm sharing a really simple Lego fruit blocks fun food tutorial. These fun edible Lego blocks are perfect for a Lego themed party, for fun snacks at home or for packing in a lunch box as part of a special Lego themed lunch.
You don't need any special equipment to make these yummy Lego fruit blocks, just a sharp knife and a drinking straw, so you can make them anytime, anywhere! We served ours up with our new homemade Lego picks for extra Lego fun but adding picks is of course entirely optional.
Just like the easy Lego sandwiches I shared a few days ago, my boys have been requesting these fruit Lego blocks again and again since I first made them, so they're great for encouraging kids to eat more fruit!
Easy LEGO Fruit Blocks
Ingredients:
- ½ honeydew melon
- ⅓ watermelon
- 1 mango
Equipment:
- chopping board
- sharp knife
- drinking straw
- Lego food picks to serve (optional)
Method:
Prepare the fruit - cut both types melon into 2-3cm blocks, then peel the mango and cut into squares of a similar size.
Cut a short piece off the drinking straw (for easier handling), then use the end of the straw to stamp rows of circles into the top of each block of fruit, following the patterns used on Lego blocks.
Place the fruit Lego blocks onto a serving platter or plate and serve.
Add homemade Lego food picks to decorate if wanted.
Enjoy!
