My fun Halloween food obsession is continuing this week with this super easy healthy Hallween party food idea for creepy crudite cups!
These are really quick and easy to put together and with a few fun creepy props make a fun addition to your Halloweeen party food table.
These fun little Halloween appetisers can also be allergy friendly, they're gluten and nut free (although houmous generally contains sesame seeds, so try my easy roasted carrot houmous recipe instead if sesame seeds are an issue) and can be dairy free if you use only houmous or make your own guacamole (Fork & Beans has a great simple dairy free guacamole recipe that takes just minutes to make).
I realised when editing the photos for this post that the angle of the cups with witches fingers ended up being a little unfortunate in my photos though, or is it just me?! They look a little like they're giving us the finger (oops!), entirely unintentional, I promise!
Creepy Crudite Cups
Ingredients:
- ½ cucumber
- 1 red pepper
- 1 large carrot
- 1 tub ready-made hummus
- 1 tub ready-made guacamole
Equipment:
- plastic shot glasses
- small bamboo skewers
- plastic eyeballs and witches fingers
Method:
Wash the eyeball and witches finger decorations in warm soapy water and dry thoroughly.
Push a small bamboo skewer into each eyeball, and pop a skewer inside each of the witches fingers.
Prepare the vegetables, de-seed the pepper, peel the carrot, wash the cucumber and slice them all into sticks.
Place a spoonful of hummus or guacamole in the bottom of each shot glass.
Arrange a selection of the vegetable sticks in each shot glass (I fit 2 of each in each of my glasses) leaving a gap in the middle for the creepy decorations.
Add an eyeball or a finger to the middle of each glass, holding them in place with the bamboo skewer.
Serve and enjoy!
Note: Make sure you warn your guests that the bamboo skewers are there, especially if there are small children around!

Love this idea! What a great way to get kids to eat things that are healthy! I love your comment about the finger in the middle...it does look a bit rude but it made me smile 🙂

Such a good idea for a party - the Peachicks are massive hummus fans & these would go down a treat! I did have a giggle about the witchy finger too!
