These easy Yoda Smoothies make a great fun and healthy Star Wars themed recipe for kids. Dress up the delicious green smoothie recipe with our free printable Yoda ears for an out of this world drink they are sure to love!
Earlier this month (on May the 4th of course!) we celebrated Star Wars Day with my two boys, who are both utterly Star Wars mad at the moment. Whilst having them at home full time over the last few months, we've had to break up many a lightsaber fight as they'd battle from dawn till dusk if they could!
They are especially enjoying the Mandalorian series at the moment, with their favourite character being 'The Child', also known as 'Baby Yoda', so when they asked for Star Wars themed food for Star Wars day, they added an extra request for Baby Yoda themed food!
I decided to cheat a little and go with a drink recipe for this one, as a green smoothie lends itself so well to the Yoda theme! And so I created a fun Yoda themed smoothie, complete with Yoda ears, but called it a Baby Yoda smoothie for my boys.
The only real difference is in the colouring of the ears - just in case you too have beady eyed Star Wars fans that would notice the difference - keep them plain green for Yoda, or add some pink in the middle for Baby Yoda.
Green Yoda Smoothies
Ingredients (serves 2):
- 300ml apple juice
- 50g raw spinach leaves
- 100g cucumber
- 1 banana
- 1 Tbsp honey/maple syrup
To decorate (optional!):
- 2 small bottles or glasses
- printable sheet of Yoda ears
- colouring pens or pencils
- 1 pair scissors
- clear tape
- green paper straws
Method:
First, prepare the bottles or glasses you want to serve your smoothies in.
Download and print out a copy of our free Yoda ears template.
Colour in as many ears as you need (2 ears per person!). Carefully cut out the ears.
Use clear tape to attach the ears to your chosen drinking vessels - we used small glass bottles but normal drinking glasses would also do the job just as well.
Once your bottles or glasses are decorated and ready, it's time to prepare the smoothie mixture.
Whizz all the ingredients together in a blender until smooth.
Carefully pour the smoothie into the prepared bottles or glasses.
Top with paper straws if using and serve immediately.
Enjoy!
