Today I'm sharing the quick and easy bento lunch that I packed for my son's first day back to school this year. It was very much a case of finding whatever was lying around in the fridge, I really should have been better prepared but I didn't want the summer holidays to ever end! Still, I managed to rustle up a fairly respectable lunch with plenty of fruit and veg, so I thought it was worth a share.
It was my 9 year old that went back to school this week so it's back to packing lunches every day for me! He's going into Year 5 this year, so I'm starting my 6th year of packing lunches! That also means that the Eats Amazing blog is now 5 years old, wow! A lot has happened in those 5 years, and I've loved every minute of it, blogging has quite literally changed my life! Thank you so much if you've been following along with my fun food adventures, I hope you've found plenty of inspiration here over the years.
Back to lunch! As I mentioned above, this was a really quick and simple lunch that I threw together in the blur of finding uniform, shoes, PE kit and school bag - one day I'll be more organised! In this lunch I packed 2 brioche rolls, split and filled with pate, 1 baby pepper, some cucumber slices (home grown, no less!), a peeled clementine, red grapes and a little treat of a dried fruit string and a few mini chocolate smarties.
This lunch was packed in our Yumbox Panino bento box, and decorated with a musical themed bento divider (baran), a cute blackboard cupcake pick and crayon cupcake picks.
