Good morning, I hope you had a lovely weekend! All of us in my little family seem to have been struck down with various nasty colds and stomach bugs over the weekend, so we're having a pyjama day today. I thought I'd take the opportunity to do a little bit of blogging and share the next in my alphabet lunch series. Today's letter is U, so the end of the alphabet is in sight!
As I'm sure you can imagine, U wasn't the easiest letter to base a lunch on, but I managed to pull a couple of things together. In this lunch, Small Child had a wholemeal tortilla wrap (Unleavened bread) filled with ham, lettuce and a little mayo, then rolled up and halved. I used a fine paintbrush and food colouring to draw on 'water' and added ocean themed food picks and carrot fish to give them an Underwater theme. On the side he had cucumber Umbrellas (using picks from this set for the handles), carrot UFOs and red grapes and blueberries topped with a mini Babybel Cheese with a U cut from the wax, and a carrot arrow pointing Up. I had to include a Utensil of course, so popped a mini fork in for his fruit!
I also packed some organic blueberry yoghurt in a reusable food pouch (not shown). I was pleased to have managed to produce a U themed lunch, tricky as it was! Can you think of anything that I missed?
