Looking for easy Halloween party food ideas for kids? They don't come more simple than these fun and easy Vampire Apples!
Whilst it's great to have some fun treats at Halloween (and you'll find plenty of fun Halloween treat recipes here on the blog!) it's always good to find fun Halloween food ideas for kids that don't involve huge amounts of sugar, and these vampire apples also count towards your 5 a day, win win!
Like the bitey vampire bagels I shared earlier this week, this quick and easy fun Halloween food idea takes no time at all to make so it's perfect for making in bulk for healthy Halloween party food.
You can serve these apples at Halloween parties, for a fun Halloween themed snack or even pack them for a creepy lunch box surprise (be sure to brush the cut sides with a little orange or lemon juice to prevent browning if not serving immediately).
You can find the vampire teeth in loads of shops at this time of year – try pound shops, a dressing up shop or even the Halloween section in your local supermarket, or if all else fails you can also find them online.
Easy Vampire Apples
Ingredients:
- 4 apples
- 1 Tbsp orange or lemon juice (optional)
- 4 sets of vampire teeth
Method:
Using a sharp knife, carefully cut a wedge horizontally into the side of each apple.
Remove the wedge and brush the cut edges of the apples with a little orange or lemon juice.*
Fold a set of vampire teeth so it is in the closed position and firmly press into the cut-out side of the apple.
Repeat with the other apples and sets of teeth until you have as many vampire apples as you need.
Enjoy!
*Note: If the vampire apples are to be eaten immediately you won't need to brush them with juice but it will help prevent browning if they will be left on a party table for a while or packed in a lunch box.
