These fun and easy Christmas Bauble Macarons take just minutes to make, so they're a perfect last minute festive party food idea, dessert or treat!
Today I have a really quick and easy Christmas food hack to share, in the form of these quick and easy Christmas Macaron Baubles.
This is such a simple idea I can't call it a recipe (unless you make your own macarons from scratch, in which case you are a far braver cook than I, especially at this crazy busy time of year!) so I'm calling it a festive fun food tutorial instead.
In just a few minutes (and with the help of some scrummy ready-made macarons from the supermarket!) you can whip up these fun festive little treats and impress everyone you offer them too!
Whether it be for a fun dessert at home or for a festive party food treat, everyone will love these cute little edible baubles. They're really fun to make too, so get the kids involved and let them decorate to their hearts content with icing and sprinkles!
I was inspired to make these fun festive macarons after spotting some gorgeous shimmery macarons in my local supermarket. This brought to mind the fun Halloween macarons that I decorated in October and I thought there must be a fun festive spin I could put on them for this time of year! It was my oldest who suggested baubles - and they turned out just how we imagined!
Christmas Bauble Macarons
Ingredients:
- 1 pack ready-made macarons
- 2-3 strawberry laces
- small coloured tubes of ready-made writing icing
- sprinkles of your choice
Method:
Split the macarons in half (be careful, they’re delicate!) by sliding a thin knife between them to lift off the top.
Cut a small length off one of the strawberry laces and bend over to form a loop. Gently press the ends into the macaron fillings then replace the top halves to put the macarons back together.
Using the writing icing and sprinkles, decorate the macarons.
You can draw patterns with the icing, use it to stick on the sprinkles or go for a mixture of both.
Wait until the icing is set and dry, then carefully place on a plate or platter to serve.
Enjoy!
