This fun festive reindeer themed sandwich idea for kids is great for Christmas party food, fun Christmas meals at home and popping into Christmas packed lunches for a cute surprise!
Today I’m sharing a festive reindeer themed sandwich idea, along with a quick video tutorial to show you how super quick and easy it is to make.
This post is part of a series of blog posts where I'm sharing fun sandwiches that I have created with the new range of Good Inside®* Sandwich Thins from Hovis®. You can see all the sandwich ideas I've shared so far here: Creative Sandwich Thins Ideas, and I've got a few more creations to share over the next week or so too so watch this space for more ideas!
Hovis® Good Inside®* Sandwich Thins are great for kids lunches because they make putting a packed lunch together so quick and easy. You can fill them with a whole range of sandwich fillings and as you can see from my series of Sandwich Thin posts, they are easy to decorate for extra fun lunches too. I'm really enjoying creating these fun sandwich thin designs and my boys are really enjoying eating them too!
This reindeer Sandwich Thin can be served up on a plate for a fun lunch at home (it's easy to make so would be great for kids Christmas party food too!) or packed in a lunch box for a delicious and fun festive school lunch.
Reindeer Sandwich Thin
Ingredients:
- 1 Hovis® Soft White Good Inside®* Sandwich Thin
- butter or spread
- 1 slice roast beef or sandwich filling of your choice
- 1 cherry tomato
- 2 pretzels
- edible icing eyes
Method:
First split your Sandwich Thin, butter it and add a filling of your choice to the bottom half. I buttered mine and added a slice of roast beef to fill it. Other sandwich meats such as ham or chicken, a slice of cheddar cheese or filling such as tuna mayo would also work well.
With a small circle cutter, roughly the same size as the cherry tomato, cut a circle from one corner of the top piece of Sandwich Thin.
Place the top piece of Sandwich Thin over the filling to form the sandwich. Turn the filled Sandwich Thin around so that is forms a diamond shape with the corner containing the round hole closest to you.
Pop the cherry tomato into the hole. If serving to a younger child it would be a good idea to cut the cherry tomato in half first to reduce the risk of choking.
Place two edible eyes on the sandwich above the cherry tomato 'nose'.
Finish with two pretzels at the top of the sandwich to form the antlers.
Serve and enjoy!
