I'm back from my holiday today, (sob!) but there is still plenty of time left of the school holidays stretching ahead of me (yay!). Although the school year has ended and I'm having a nice break from packing lunches, I still have the rest of my alphabet lunches to share with you! I managed to complete the alphabet just in time for the end of the school year, but I'm a bit behind with the blogging part so will gradually share the rest of them over the summer. Today's lunch is all about the letter M, the half way point in the alphabet! I was really pleased with how this lunch turned out, it's probably my favourite alphabet lunch so far!
The stars of this lunch were the Macaroni and Melted Mozzarella Monsters! I made these by mixing freshly cooked macaroni with grated mozzarella cheese whilst still hot, then spooning the mixture into silicone cupcake cases and decorating with my favourite eye picks. Once they had cooled down Small Child was able to remove them from the cupcake cases and eat them like cakes, as the melted cheese held the macaroni together.
In this lunch Small Child had the Macaroni and Melted Mozzarella Monsters, some raw Mange tout decorated with Monkey picks (from this set and this set), a hard-boiled egg shaped into a Monkey using the CuteZcute animal palz set and Mango and Melon chunks, decorated with M alphabet picks, another Monkey Pick and a Music themed silicone divider. As a special treat, he had a little Mushroom themed Mini container filled with Mini Marshmallows and a couple of Mini chocolate coins (Money).
This lunch was a big success, the Monsters went down particularly well with Small Child! I'll definitely make them again in the future, they were really easy to make and looked so funny! I think I'll experiment with adding extra bits and pieces like ham or shredded veggies next time too, to make them extra tasty.
