Today I'm going to share a whole week's worth of healthy and easy bento lunches for kids. These are all very simple and very quick to throw together. I've been sitting on some of these lunch photos for a while, thinking that they weren't interesting enough to share, but then I was thinking about this blog and my reasons for setting it up in the first place - to share ideas for healthy bento lunches - and I realised that simple or not, they are all worth sharing. These may not be fabulously creative bento lunches, but they're still healthy, appetising and more than good enough for Small Child!
One of the reasons I champion the idea of bento lunches so passionately is because they really are one of the quickest and easiest ways to pack a delicious healthy lunch for kids, and these are all great example of easy, totally doable lunches, without a fancy sandwich in sight! As you'll know, if you read my blog regularly, I do love a fancy sandwich, but sometimes I just don't have the time and energy to pull out all the stops, so here I am, keeping it real!
Lunch 1: Assortment of crackers, duck liver pâté to spread on them, carrot sticks and cucumber sticks, peeled and sliced kiwi fruit, natural yoghurt with dinosaur sprinkles, all decorated with dinosaur cupcake picks. This lunch was packed in our new yellow Yumbox UK bento box.
Lunch 2: Leftover boiled potatoes, a silicone cup filled with tinned sweetcorn and topped with little fish cut from carrot using a mini bento cutter, Pressels pretzels (we were sent these to try, they are so yummy!), red grapes and natural yoghurt, topped with star sprinkles. I packed this lunch in our green Yumbox UK bento box and decorated it with pirate cupcake rings and a pirate flag.
Lunch 3: A mini pork pie, cut into quarters and topped with a hat bento pick, water biscuit crackers, a mini Babybel cheese, with a teddy bear cut from the wax to decorate, carrot sticks, a mini red pepper topped with an eye bento pick, grapes and blueberries topped with animal fork picks, natural yoghurt and a small handful of raisins. This lunch was packed in our green Yumbox UK bento box.
Lunch 4: Wholemeal wraps filled with ham and Leerdammer cheese slices, held together with rocket bento picks, cucumber slices, a raw carrot aeroplane cut using our 3D plane cutter set, apple slices, topped with helicopter bento picks, and a handful of blueberries. This lunch was packed in our Yumbox UK Panino bento box.
Lunch 5: Roast beef slices, rolled and topped with a rabbit bento pick, a silicone cup filled with mini ritz crackers, carrot and cucumber sticks, decorated with a silicone divider and panda bento pick, natural yoghurt, blueberries and grapes with cat bento picks and some raisins, with a pinch of flower sprinkles. This lunch was packed in our blue Yumbox UK bento box.
Simple and delicious bento lunches - Small Child ate them all!

Grace, this is lovely as usual...and oh, so European! I can't imagine giving a child something so decadent as pate for lunch. Also, I really wish some of those British hand pies would become more popular here, because I'd love a pork pie sometimes.

Thank you! I hadn't ever considered how 'European' the foods I use are, it's fun to see them with fresh eyes! Pork pies are delicious, not hugely healthy but a lovely treat with a picnic! 🙂
