This healthy vegetable flowers bouquet makes a cute edible centrepiece for Easter, flower themed party food idea or fun healthy snack for kids!
Good morning and happy Mother's Day! In honour of Mother's Day, today I'm sharing a fun and healthy snack idea that I made with Small Child this morning - a simple vegetable bouquet.
This was really easy to put together and makes a fun edible craft project for kids. These cute vegetable flowers would be perfect for flower themed party food too!
To make your bouquet of vegetable flowers you'll need just a few supplies; bamboo skewers, flower shaped mini bento cutters and a glass or vase to present them in. I cut my skewers in half using kitchen scissors to make them easier to work with.
For younger children, you may want to cut the sharp point off each skewer too.
Easy Fruit & Vegetable Edible Bouquet
Ingredients
- 1 large carrot
- ⅓ cucumber
- handful green grapes
- handful blueberries
Method
Peel the carrot, cut the carrot and cucumber into thick slices. Shape into flowers using mini cutters.
To make each flower, first thread a grape onto a skewer. The grape helps to hold the flower in place and stops it from slipping down the skewer.
Add one or two of the cucumber and/or carrot flowers, then top with a blueberry if wanted.
We made a mixture of flowers; some with cucumber and carrot, some with just carrot, some with blueberries and some without.
Serve up as a fun and healthy snack, or use as a pretty centrepiece for a springtime or Easter table.
