Today is Wear it Pink Day, a massive fundraising event that takes place every year in the UK to raise money for Breast Cancer Campaign, a charity that funds ground breaking research into cures for breast cancer. Small Child's school already had a different event planned for today, so they celebrated Wear It Pink Day one day last week instead. They had great fun going into school dressed up in pink for the day (yep, boys as well!), and I made Small Child a pink lunch to celebrate too.
In this lunch Small Child had fusilli pasta, served up in a pink girl shaped silicone mould, with tiny cubes of cheddar cheese and pink ham flowers. I tried to dye the pasta pink with food colouring, but it didn't really pick up the colour much. On the side he had grapes and strawberries, skewered on pink picks, and pink ladybird shaped container filled with strawberry yoghurt and a few pink heart sprinkles. I also added a couple of pink marshmallows as a special treat. I finished the lunch off with some pink decorative dividers (from this set and this set) and a cute pink spoon and fork set.
Small Child was really excited about pink day, and dressed up with great enthusiasm! Here he is in all his pink glory! Now today, as well as celebrating Pink Day, I'm also introducing my first weekly link-up here at Eats Amazing. The Eats Amazing blog is all about making food fun, so I thought that it was about time I set up a regular linky to celebrate all the fun food that you've been making. Whether it be lovely lunches, creative cakes, or a recipe you've cooked with your children, every Friday you'll have the opportunity to link up and share the inspiration around. Anything goes, as long as it's edible!
Please visit some of the other blogs that have linked up and leave them a comment if you have time - we all love comments! Please grab the button above too, and put it either in your blog post or somewhere on your blog. Old and new posts welcome, you can link up more than one post, but no more than three links per blog please.
Thank you in advance for linking up, I hope you find some fun inspiration here!
