Although I've started sharing my Alphabet Lunches with you this week, I'm breaking away from them today and instead sharing a special lunch that I made for Small Child to take on a school trip last week. He and his class were visiting the Sir Harold Hillier Gardens for the day, and he was so excited about it! A packed lunch was required, so I promised to make him a special garden themed lunch to take with him. I tried to keep it fairly simple with minimal decorations for him to lose, although I couldn't resist adding a few food picks!
In this lunch Small Child had flower shaped sandwiches, cut from Warburtons easy roll wraps and filled with a little soft garlic cheese & German sausage slices. On the side he had had some raw mange tout topped with cucumber slices on tree picks, an Organix oaty bar (under the pretzels) pretzel sticks and a cheese stick, which I decorated with food picks from the ladybird and bee set. I cut some melon slices into leaf shapes using a plunger cutter, added a few blueberries in the gaps and finished the lunch off with a little houmous for Small Child to dip his veggies and pretzel sticks in.
Small Child ate every bit of this lunch, and thankfully all of the picks made it home, despite him picnicking in the open air - I've obviously trained him well!
