Small Child asked me to make him a lunch in our TUMTUM lunch box recently, and I was happy to oblige - I have quite a collection of lunch boxes these days and it's nice to get around to using different ones occasionally - each box suits a different style of lunch packing and the shape and size of this one makes it particularly good for bento. I was inspired by the blue colour of the box to make something water themed - so we ended up with a frog/pond theme for this lunch. This lunch box is also the perfect size to hold sandwiches cut out using our CuteZcute Animal Friends cutter set, which I used to make the frog sandwich.
In this lunch Small Child had a couple of roast beef sandwiches on wholemeal bread, which I cut into frogs using the CuteZcute cutter set. On the side he had cucumber slices, with a triangle cut from each to make them look like lily-pads, a mandarin orange, peeled and gently prised apart to look like a lily flower, a strawberry, decorated with a leaf pick, some raspberries and a mini Babybel cheese, which I decorated by cutting a flower from the wax. I filled the middle compartment with dried cranberries and raisins, turning a few of the raisins into flies by adding sunflower seed 'wings'. I also added a little bee pick, frog picks and a grass shaped silicone divider to decorate.
I thought that I hadn't included much in the way of dairy in the lunch, so added a reusable food pouch filled with organic strawberry yoghurt to his lunch bag too. Small Child finished off all of this lunch apart from a small handful of the dried fruit, which he finished off after school. I was pleased with how this lunch turned out too!

Just something as simple as peeling and separating a satsuma is a great idea! A perfect little flower x

Thank you, I love that technique - one of those things that I'm not sure whether I thought of it myself or I saw someone else do it that I've forgotten about!
