    Car Lunch & #FunFoodFriday

Welcome to Fun Food Friday!  I've really enjoyed all the brilliant posts that have been linked up recently, thank you for linking if it was your first time last week, and do join in the fun if you are new here - everyone is welcome.  If you've been making any fun food, whether it be lovely lunches, creative cakes, or a recipe you’ve blogged, please link up below and share the inspiration around.  Anything goes, as long as it’s edible!

My fun food for today is a car themed bento lunch, made in the Yumbox, which is proving to be one of my favourite lunch boxes ever! I have had so many comments and questions since I started using it, mainly asking where to buy it from, so I thought I'd just mention that it is now available to buy here in the UK in the Eats Amazing Shop and you can also find it on sale in the US and Australia.

Back to the lunch - I started with a hard boiled egg, which I moulded into a car shape using an egg mould, before popping into a silicone cup once cool.  I then toasted and sliced up a whole wheat pitta bread, topping it with a car cut from a slice of carrot using a mini bento cutter.  On the side he had mini traffic light vegetable kebabs (red pepper, carrot and green pepper cut into circles using a circle bento cutter, then skewered on polka dot picks in traffic light colours), a kiwi fruit, peeled, sliced and decorated with car picks, and a portion of organic natural yoghurt, topped with a few traffic light coloured sprinkles.  I had intended to add some houmous to spread on the pitta bread, but somebody (I'm looking at you Mr Amazing!) had eaten it all, so I filled the smallest compartment with dried cranberries instead.

I popped a spoon and a fork from our mini bento cutlery set into his lunch bag too.  Small Child thoroughly enjoyed this lunch - anything featuring cars or other machines always goes down well with him!

Now it’s your turn, what fun food have you been making recently? Please link up your foodie posts below and share the inspiration around.  You can also link up Instagram, Facebook or Twitter pictures if you don’t have a blog of your own.

A few quick reminders before you link up; please visit some of the other blogs that have linked up and leave them a comment – we all love comments! If you are linking up from your blog, please grab the button below too, and put it either in your blog post or somewhere on your blog. Both old and new posts are very welcome, and do feel free to link up several posts if you’d like.

What a great blog! I have 2 not-so-small boys (14 & 12), and I like to give them something healthy, fun, and thoughtful when they come home from school: you have inspired me, thank you.

Im so pleased I saw your story online today. My son is 3 and has a heart problem, he really struggles with his appetite. Your boxes may be just the answer. He loves Octonauts, so today I am going to make a start by making some of the Tuneips 'fish biscuits' and take it from there. Thank you from one happy motivated Mummy 😀

        Hi Helen,

Thank you so much for your lovely comment, it really made my day! I hope that bento can help your son with his eating, and who could resist some fish biscuits! 🙂

Hi Raji, thanks so much for your lovely comment! I'm not sure where you're based but the green lunch box is a Yumbox, it will be available here in the UK from June via http://www.yumbox-uk.co.uk/
