I was very excited when the postman bought me a parcel recently – my new Easy Lunchboxes (yes, I get excited about lunchboxes; I’m that sad)! These were designed by Kelly Lester, a mum and entrepreneur based in the USA, and they seem to be the perfect lunchbox for bento-style lunches. They come in a set of 4, and I also bought the cooler bag to carry them in. Small Child was very impressed when he saw them, and immediately packed his own lunch in them with some of his play-food!
In this lunch Small Child had an owl sandwich (inspired by this idea that I saw on Pinterest) filled with ham, and topped with slices of hard boiled eggs to make the eyes and a slice of raw carrot for a beak. On the side he had the rest of the boiled egg topped with a cute mouse pick, some slices of raw red pepper and some raw carrot disks with flower cut-outs to decorate (the flower ‘middles’ were popped underneath).

For dessert I used the top half of a small bento box, and packed blueberries, yoghurt covered raisins and red grapes in silicone cups, with cute animals picks to eat them with. I also included a frozen organic strawberry yoghurt tube.

Small Child enjoyed his owl lunch, and loved the Easy Lunchbox. I expect I’ll be using them a lot for future lunch packing!
